    Description

Vintage Spiral Bound Booklet titled, "Progress in Pawnee County" 1872-1952 Larned KS Anniversary Edition
It was printed as a supplement to The Weekly Tiller and Toiler from Larned, Kansas. The spiral bound booklet is used and the front cover has some bends in the middle from folding and a couple of the spiral paper pieces on the front cover are broken It is a great example of the county in the 1950s including ads from Pawnee County Coop, First National Bank, Gleason Community General Hospital, Barr-Cullen, Estes Dairy Products, Shuck Manufacturing, Carson Hotel & Cafe, Tischesky's, R.E. Taylor, Cobb Electric, Harwood Plumbing & Electric, and Western Auto (that's just in the first few pages, there are more adds throughout the booklet). It gives the history of the communities and also includes a list of World War II veterans (pictures of those men who died during WW2). There are two pages which are wrinkles on the edge, but still intact, and one page that is a bit longer (done during the printing process). It is filled with black and white pictures, much more than I have seen in other historical editions and many more ads from local businesses which make it very interesting and almost irreplaceable. Be sure to look at the pictures for more details.
