Description

Rich and warm ribbon mahogany with unique brass inlay in the center of each piece – perfect for drawer fronts and many other uses. In most of the photos you are viewing the glue side as the show face is covered in clear tape (see pics). It might be necessary to clear some of the overlapping veneer strands before pressing to make sure the inlay remains flat. All show faces are clean and clear. Ideally configured for single center pull.

Condition:
Wood veneer is a natural product, and it is not uncommon for it to contain small handling cracks at one or both ends, as well as other minor blemishes. If there is any significant damage to an edge we exclude this from our measurement.
All our veneer is “raw,” in other words there is no paper or wood backer. We sell by the sheet or as a bundle – please refer to the details of each auction. Raw veneer is typically 1/32” to 1/42” depending on species and figure. Multiple sheets are picked in sequence so that you can slip or book match them as you choose.
Grading:
All sheets are packed in sequence; we use the following scale for grading fancy or exotic figures:
AAA       This is our premium grade. It indicates that the figure covers 75-100% of the surface of all slices with continuous figure and few if any other defects
AA          This is our quality grade. It indicates that the figure covers at least 50-75% of the surface of all slices, but may be accompanied by some other defects such as pin knots, mineral streaking, and related (unless of course these are desirable or expected features in this type of wood or figure).
A             This is our everyday grade. Sheets may have <50% of stated figure across the surface of each slice, and may include a more significant level of defects (again, unless these are desirable or expected features in this type of wood or figure).
Flattening
We note when any sheets may need flattening before application. You can find many excellent resources for how to flatten veneer on the Internet, and we’d be happy to recommend some if you are unsure.
Enhanced grain photos:
The beauty of wood grain, especially the more exotic figure such as crotch (where the tree branches), burl or many of the curling figures does not photograph well if it has not been finished. Rather than waste any of this precious grain we will often wet a piece with denatured alcohol as this helps to display the figure as if it was finished

We will gladly combine shipping – just contact us if you are bidding in multiple auctions or have made multiple purchases. We ship all orders via priority mail or if international, we send to the eBay global shipping program. Upon shipping of any domestic order, you will receive a notification and tracking number from eBay. We aim to cover our costs for shipping and packaging, but not to make any additional profit as we want to keep S&H to a minimum for you.
