    ARTIFACT:
    This is a rare badge from the French Marine Firefighters of Marseilles. The badge is made by Augis on the eve of World War II in painted aluminum, but has no maker's mark on the back.
    VINTAGE:
    Circa 1939.
    SIZE:
    About 1" in width by 1-1/2" in height (27mm by 37mm).
    CONSTRUCTION/MATERIALS:
    Painted monobloc aluminum.
    ATTACHMENT:
    Vertical safety-style pin with simple catch.
