Description
African Mahogany wood veneer 48" x 96" on wood backer (4' x 8' x 1/25" thickness). A quality grade. Photos are representative of actual stock which will vary in color and grain since this is a natural product. This is the main commercially sold Mahogany in the U.S. Color range can be light pinkish to darker maroon/violet. Most stock is lighter in color. Considered Flat Cut grain which means wide grain. Grain runs in longer direction. Some people prefer wood backer over paper backer because it is thicker and may bond better than paper backer and hide minor surface imperfections. Some photos may be wet or show finished veneer so the color and grain can be more accurately depicted as it may be under clear finish. Some photos may be of other sizes. The backer is Okuome Mahogany and blends perfectly. The product is unfinished. Each sheet carefully inspected and packaged by our company, not drop shipped as many sellers are doing without seeing the product. Thickness
: Paper-backed veneers are generally 1/40” and wood-backed veneers are 1/25”. Raw plain veneer with no backing is about 1/32”-1/42”.
How to cut
: generally cut with a razor knife or similar tools.
How to apply
: Paper-backed and wood-backed veneers are generally applied with contact cement. Raw plain veneer is applied with white or yellow wood glue and must have pressure applied while drying.
How to finish
: most any conventional finishing products can be used with veneer that is applied correctly.
